Diversity-Equity & Inclusion

The world watched as America rung in a NEW President and they also watched as the inauguration and presented by a youthful 22 year old young Amanda Gorman, a child of a single family home who did let her circumstance get the best of her. While we were all touched and moved by her inspiring speech, the truth is, there are many more Amanda Gorman’s out there, whether in America or here in Canada just dying for an opportunity, a foot in the door, some support, some belief, some reflection of equality that many have lost belief and hope in because the don’t know what its like.

Many will talk loudly and boastfully about Diversity and Inclusion but in reality, their actions, decisions and beliefs are contrary to whom they pretend to be. This is evident by the lack of representation/cultural melting pots of/in organizations,  industries and even government, who consistently boasts about Ontario being one of the worlds most multi-cultural cites. Chances are, like many Ipsos reads, the candidates were from a small, selected segment of society, somehow qualified to speak on behalf of the masses who has and continues to feel left out, under-appreciated, overlooked, ostracized, stigmatized.
